VMworld Europe 2018
I’m writing this from a lovely apartment in the medieval part of Barcelona, for I’m here to attend VMworld.
This trip is different already for me as firstly I’m self funding, meaning I can focus more on my interests and secondly I’ve brought my wife with me. She needed little excuse to visit Barcelona, is joining in with some spouse events and might even come to the party as I picked up a guest pass for her.
There are too many great sessions I’m attending to single any out, however it’ll be very interesting to see what is on the horizon in the multi cloud arena.
I’ve been saying for a while to colleges that ‘cloud first’ is dead, the future could be better defined as ‘business process first – right cloud’. That will mean placement in Azure, AWS, VMware Cloud or private cloud – whichever fits the function.
Vendors that can manage objects and provide visibility to a multi-cloud world will find themselves in the driving seat. I expect to see this as a focus area.
For those attending happy VMworld, for this not – remember you can follow the key notes online and all recorded content post event.
